A wife and husband
A loud beating on the door awakens a guy and his wife around 3 a.m.
The man stands up and walks to the door, where an inebriated stranger waiting in the pouring rain requests a “push.”
“Not a chance,” the spouse exclaims, “it’s three o’clock in the morning!”
He closes the door and goes back to bed.
“Who was that?” his wife inquired.
“It was just some intoxicated man asking for a shove,” he says.
“Did you assist him?” she inquires.
“No, I didn’t; it’s three o’clock in the morning, and it’s pouring out there!”
“Well, you have a short memory,” his wife remarks. “Can’t you remember approximately three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys assisted us?” I believe you should assist him, and I believe you should be ashamed of yourself! Even drunks demand assistance.
The man, embarrassed, does as he is instructed, dresses, and walks out into the pouring rain.
“Hello, are you still there?” he asks into the darkness.
“Yes,” says the respondent.
“Do you still need a push?” the spouse inquires.
“Yes, please!” responds the darkness.
“Where are you?” the spouse inquires.
“Over here… on the swing,” the alcoholic said.
